Two injured in Otahuhu after crash
Two people are in hospital after a police chase ended with a car crashing into a power pole in Huia Rd, Otahuhu late last night.
Police tried to stop the car just before 11.30pm in Otahuhu for speeding when it took off.
It crashed shortly after, injuring both occupants.
"It was a short-lived, brief fleeing driver incident," said Inspector Barry Smalley.
"They ended up clipping a power pole. One occupant was injured and unable to flee the scene."
The other occupant fled on foot, but didn't get far thanks their injuries.
Both went to hospital.
The pursuit was not at high speeds for the area and the vehicle wasn't stolen, Smalley said.
