Shotput event set for Auckland's Cloud
An international shotput event featuring double Olympic gold medalist Valerie Adams is set to be held in Auckland.
A competition at The Cloud has been on the cards for some time, with Adams the headline act in a rare chance to compete at home.
Adams, Auckland mayor Len Brown and Sports Minister Murray McCully will make an announcement this morning.
It had been hoped a number of other London Olympians will compete in the showcase event in downtown Auckland.
It's likely the event will be held in March, before Adams heads back to Europe.
