Mission calls for volunteer Angels
The Auckland City Mission needs help as it prepares for its Christmas Street Appeal on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of December.
Collectors are needed at various spots around the city on Friday between 7.30 and 10.30 am, and again from 11.30 until 3pm. On Saturday collectors are needed between 11.30 and 3pm.
Auckland City Missioner Diane Robertson says the annual Street Appeal is a vital fundraising activity for the Mission.
"Christmas time at the Mission is always frantically busy, with thousands of people coming to us for help and support. The money raised during the Auckland City Mission Street Appeal will help to ensure that Mission services can continue to function, through this busy Christmas period and into the New Year.
"The more collectors we have, the more money we will make. It's that simple."
The street collection forms part of the Auckland City Mission Christmas Appeal, which runs throughout December. The theme of the campaign is "Become Someone's Angel this Christmas", encouraging all Aucklanders to remember those less fortunate than themselves.
