LETTERS: Tepid plan turns chilly

I am amazed that there is not a good easy speedy answer to this. How many builders with this type of experiance have been consulted?
This facility, daily and all day, gives good health to those many adults wishing to use it. The numbers of small children and toddlers who learn to swim there is surprising, no doubt saving life in the future.
As an older person who does not like exposure, I love the old fashioned changing cubicles, they are used by many.
To do my specialist-prescribed cycling overlooking the pool was a joy. Going to the new YMCA gym is a fag.
The warm baths is a place of happiness and exemplary behaviour, not to be found in general in this concrete jungle.
Although I am not an expert, it seems to me that repairs could be done in sections, and possibly chemical tile cleaning by specialists would make the floors better.
It should be open for the Rugby World Cup, some visitors would love a dip.

The Auckland City Council should make investigating an alternative warm baths facility for Tepid Baths users a priority and that altenative made public before the scheduled closure of the Tepid Baths at 100 Fanshaw St in the city.
It's my view the council have the cart before the horse in this process of public consultation.
