It is good to see a very positive media article regarding boxing. I have known Grant and Mary Arkell for some time.
I seen them give so much time and expense in the training of these young people. Grant has great way in training the young folk, he has a way of getting the best from each individual. There has been a number of young stars gone through the gym with others following.
Grant and Mary have done this by themselves, always there to help those young people more ways than one. They only charge pittance like about $10 a week or $40 a month. Nobody can run a boxing gym on that kind of money.
They both think only of helping the young ones, who come from a low income area. Any sort of sponsorship or funding would a great help to the gym. You won't get better people to help. If you praise Grant, he always says "it wasn't me, it's the boxer".?
