Busting with Life. MATT SMITH

For a bunch of breast cancer survivors, these women in pink are doing their darndest to keep ahead of things. Not the least, ahead of any competitors in the sport of dragon boating.

The Busting with Life dragon boat team has recently taken part in the Auckland Dragon Boat Association's Flipping Freezing winter fun regatta.

The event included one 3.7km race going under Auckland Harbour Bridge as well as three 200m races.

On September 11, the dragon boaters will be competing in the Silly Spring Super 12 regatta at Westhaven and competing in a regatta in Sydney in October.

Busting with Life dragon boat team - national champions for the last three years in the breast cancer division - is a team of women who are all breast cancer survivors.

Most are aged between 40-65 years old, who are keeping fit, making new friends and having fun through dragon boating. The next season begins with training at Westhaven from November onwards.

New paddlers are always welcome to join the team, please see www.bustingwithlife.co.nz , info@bwl.co.nz or phone Judith 449 2626
