Dentist offers free care for charity donation

A West Auckland dental practice is offering free dental care tomorrow in exchange for two cans of food for charity.

Dental Care West will treat at least the first 100 people in line between 8am and 2pm.

Principal dentist and owner Dr Scott Waghorn says a lot of people are concerned about not being able to afford dental care or can't fit it in around their work schedules.

"We, with our free day, hope to allow many people to access our care and if they can't we also offer a number of payment plans."

Dr Waghorn says they want to give something to the community.

"And aim to continue to be able to provide the community with free dental care, and hopefully as a present that people can enjoy over Christmas."

Four hundred people lined up when Dental Care West offered the same deal last year, with the first man turning up at 3am.
